Why does market replay freeze or lag?
A stuttering replay breaks your focus right when the setup forms. Most causes are simple, and most fixes take a minute.
Short answer: replay usually lags because data is still loading, the speed is set higher than your device can draw, too many indicators recalculate on every bar, or the browser or computer is busy with other work. Lower the speed, trim overlays and close extra tabs first. These steps help in most cases, but not every one.

Data loading
The session's bars are still downloading, especially on slow or mobile connections.
High replay speed
Very fast playback asks the chart to redraw many times a second.
Indicator and overlay load
Each overlay recalculates as new bars arrive. More overlays, more work.
Browser tabs and extensions
Other tabs, ad blockers and heavy extensions compete for memory and CPU.
Desktop resource usage
Desktop platforms, screen recorders and other apps can starve the replay.
Old browser
Outdated browsers render charts more slowly. Update to the latest version.

Tips inside NQ Replay
Pick a calmer speed
Use the speed control to step down from the fastest setting, or pause and step bar by bar around the entry.
Trim overlays
Toggle off indicators and ICT overlays you aren't using for this session, such as VWAP, EMA or RSI.
Clear old drawings
Remove drawings you no longer need so the chart has less to redraw.
Fixes checklist
- Reload the page and let the session finish loading before pressing play.
- Lower the replay speed.
- Turn off indicators and overlays you don't need.
- Close other tabs and pause heavy browser extensions.
- Update your browser.
- Quit other demanding apps, especially other trading platforms.
