ES and NQ SMT divergence practice
SMT divergence compares two related markets: when one makes a new high or low and the other doesn't. This page is about practising it on ES and NQ; the concept itself is covered in our SMT divergence guide.
Replay the same date on NQ and ES, mark each market's key highs and lows, and note sessions where one sweeps a level while the other fails to. Log what happened next before judging the idea.
Practice routine
1. Pick one date
Use a date available for both ES and NQ.
2. Mark levels
Previous day high/low and overnight range on both charts.
3. Note mismatches
Record when one market takes a level and the other doesn't.
4. Log the outcome
Track what followed, including the times it didn't work.
